Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Cuore is an iOS application that measures heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), and stress levels using the iPhone rear camera and flash. References to "Cuore", "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to the developer of the Cuore app.

2. Data we collect

Cuore does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. Specifically:

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any contact information.
• We do not create user accounts or profiles.
• We do not collect biometric data, health measurements, or sensor readings outside of your device.
• We do not use analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, or session-recording tools.
• We do not use cookies or any web tracking technologies.

3. Data stored on your device

All measurement data (heart rate, HRV, stress level, timestamps) is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data:

• Never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share it.
• Is not accessible to us or any third party.
• Can be deleted at any time by deleting the Cuore app.
• May be included in iCloud backups if you have iCloud Backup enabled for your device — this is controlled entirely by your iOS settings.

4. Apple Health integration

With your permission, Cuore can write heart rate (BPM) and HRV (RMSSD) readings to Apple Health after each measurement. Important details:

• Cuore only writes to Apple Health — it never reads any existing health data you have stored there.
• Health data written to Apple Health is governed by Apple's own privacy policy and iOS permissions system.
• You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Cuore.

5. Camera and flash access

Cuore requests access to your device's rear camera and flash solely for the purpose of photoplethysmography (PPG) measurement. We do not capture, save, or transmit any images or video. The camera feed is processed entirely in memory and discarded after each measurement session.

6. In-app purchases and subscriptions

Cuore Pro is offered as an auto-renewable subscription through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information. For billing questions, please refer to Apple's App Store support.

7. Children's privacy

Cuore is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Because we collect no personal data from any users, no special handling is required.

8. Advertising — Google AdMob (free tier only)

Free-tier users are shown interstitial advertisements between measurements, delivered by Google AdMob (Google LLC). This means:

• The Google Mobile Ads SDK is included in the app and may collect device information, IP address, and — if you grant permission — the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
• Before the first ad is shown, the app presents an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt required by Apple. If you decline, AdMob serves ads without your IDFA. If you accept, personalised ads may be shown.
• Google's data collection is governed by Google's own policies and is outside our control.
• Upgrading to Cuore Pro removes all advertisements and eliminates all AdMob SDK activity.

9. Data security

Because all data remains on your device and is never transmitted to external servers, the security of your measurement history is tied to the security of your iPhone. We recommend keeping your device protected with a passcode and keeping iOS up to date.

10. Your rights

Since we do not collect or hold any personal data, there is nothing for us to provide, correct, or delete on your behalf. All data associated with Cuore can be removed entirely by deleting the app from your iPhone.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through an app update. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Cuore after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
